Ruhamah Lab Services was founded by Phuti Mathopa in 2016 and it is a 100% Black Female owned company with a Level 1 BEE status at 135%.
N. Diploma in Analytical Chemistry from TUT, B-Tech Degree in Chemistry from TUT, JMP (Junior Manager Programme from Wits University, PPM (Practical Project Management )- UNISA, MBA from UNISA through Open University (2009), Qualified Technical Assessor for ISO/IEC 17025, 17034 and 17043 Standards with SANAS.
Phuti Mathopa joined Anglo Platinum in January 2001 as a Shift Chemist at P.F. Retief Laboratory in Rustenburg. Part of her responsibilities included reporting of results, running of the shift through prioritizing tasks, delegation, and staff training.
She was then transferred to ARC in Germiston in July 2008 as a Senior Chemist. As a chemist at Anglo Research (AR) she was part of the management team that ensured the efficient and effective running of the Metal Accounting Section. She has been involved in the method development of analytical techniques for the analysis and determination of PGM’s (Platinum Group Metals). She has also been involved in projects for the commissioning and optimization of the ICP-MS (Inductively Coupled Plasma-Mass Spectrometry) instruments as well as training of staff members on the technique for the section.
Phuti was transferred from AR back to P. F. Retief Lab in November 2008 as a Section Manager. She moved to PMC (Polokwane Metallurgical Complex) in Polokwane in April 2010 and in September 2013 moved to Precious Metals Refinery in Rustenburg to head the PCL lab as a Section Manager.
In 2014 April, she joined The SA Mint in centurion as a Lab Manager, where she had to ensure Quality Compliance for effluent discharge and report to The Reserve bank on a monthly basis for compliance with the by-laws of the country.
Phuti then embarked on an entrepreneurial journey in 2016 and is now the founder and director of Ruhamah Water and Laboratory Services (Ruhamah), a company that does Quality Management Consulting for Testing Laboratories, Reference Material Producers and Proficiency Testing Scheme providers in the Mining and Minerals Sector as well as water treatment and testing sectors. Ruhamah also runs a Water Purification and bottling manufacturing plant, which provides bottled water and fruit juices and other products hygiene essential products.
